In this 3-day intensive workshop students will receive 2 assignments: They will sculpt a life-size hand in the morning, and a life-size foot in the afternoon. The Hand and foot are important elements of expression and both require knowledge of the structure and forms. With most figure studies completed in classes, the scale is too small to delve into these important structures adequately. In this class, students will have the opportunity to work at full scale and focus only on the hand and foot. Alicia will communicate the structures, planes and forms of the hand and foot through demonstration, and will work alongside the students throughout the workshop. Teaching methods will also include brief lectures and individual feedback. We'll work from a combination of casts, our own hands, and bring in live models to explore the anatomy. The group will work in oil-based clay on an armature. We will not cast the projects in class, but students are encouraged to do so independently.

All experience levels are welcome and encouraged to participate
